Elderly Respite Care Offered at the Astoria Senior Residence
Responding to the
needs of busy family caregivers, Astoria Senior Residence is offering short-term
or respite care for the elderly during the holiday season and throughout the
year.
For
a growing number of people, the standard workweek consists of 24-hour days,
seven days a week. They are the
family caregivers of aging parents while juggling careers and raising children.
“After managing
many aspects of concerns for senior
citizens ranging from housing and medical care to travel, ”Viviane Tondeur,
owner of Astoria Senior Residence observed, ”I became very well aware of just
what a strain the holidays can put on family caregivers. It makes serious sense to consider short-term care for
elderly loved ones when a caregiver becomes overwhelmed with the situation. Depending on availability of rooms, we
can offer short-term care for a few weeks or a few months.”
Astoria Senior Residence is a home-style residential care facility for the elderly, licensed by the California Department of Social Services. The home is located in Woodland Hills in the West San Fernando Valley.
“What sets us
apart from the others,” according to Charles
Buntjer, administrator of Astoria
Senior Residence,” is our experience and the level of service we offer. Families can be comfortable in the
knowledge that their elderly loved ones are safe and secure. In addition to bright and cheerful rooms,
nutritious meals, medication management, transportation to doctor’s and
dentist appointments, and all housekeeping duties, Astoria Senior Residence
offers personalized attention to individual health concerns. Our staff ratio is 3 caregivers for 6 residents. That’s what makes us so good!”
