Pacific Airlines, the first aviation Share-Holding Company, was approved to establish in Viet Nam on the 12th of December 1990 by the Ministry of Transportation and Post Office.

The foundation of Pacific Airlines has marked a new step forward in Vietnamese aviation industry. From April 1991, Pacific Airlines started its first operation by a cargo charter to Europe, and the first scheduled flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Taipei (Taiwan). After 15 years of operation, Pacific Airlines has strengthened and developed instantly. With modern airplanes (Boeing B737-400 and A320), Pacific Airlines is now providing scheduled services with dense frequencies in trunk domestic routes between Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, and between Ho Chi Minh City and Taipei, Kaohsiung. Also, Pacific Airlines plans its opening new routes to Japan, Korea, ASEAN countries and South of Asia in 2006.
