Claudette Colbert was on the cover of Screen Book Magazine in April of 1938.

My friend Tim gave this magazine to me as it was signed two years before I was born, such a nice guy!  I also have an autographed photo of her!

The magazine of course, has lots of gossip in it.

Marlene Dietrich latest 'boy friend' in 1938 is the Earl of Warwick!

She also went to a dance party and asked her escorts to ask various men who were dancing with their wives to dance with her.  No one did and she sat out the night without a dance partner.  Sounds strange to me, Marlene couldn't get a man, I don't think so.

Also Garbo had moved so many times they said she would never find a house that was secluded enough.  She did find a fabulous house with a great interior but when she put a purchase price on it, low and behold, Adrian the dress designer had all ready bought it, bad boy!

Barbara Stanwyck was picking out furniture for Robert Taylor to buy for his new house he had just bought.  She found a fantastic cabinet maker and decided to hire him to make cabinets for Bob.  Well she was irritated as Ray Milland had hired him and the cabinet maker was out of circulation for months.

And finally, lots of photographs and articles about the latest 'hot' men and women in Hollywood and guess what, hardly any of them actually became stars!

Also a great photo of Bette Davis looking young and beautiful as Jezebel and wondering if she might be another Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind!

Check out Colbert's 10 rules for success and a photo of her and one of her leading men, Gary Cooper.
