Since there was an article on the Freeport Newspaper in April of 2008 about my photo on the cover of Life magazine and how the school was run, Marilyn Baal sent in a note to the editor with the names of the students in the school in 1946! So here over 60 years later, is a list of the kids in the school. I was in first grade with Carol Neuberger and Marilyn Baal! Leroy Johnson lived on the next farm along with his brother Donald. We used to play all the time on our farms but since Donald isn't in this photo, he must have been younger than I was! |
