FORRESTON -- Mrs. John (Rena) Buntjer of Forreston died Wednesday night in a Freeport hospital where she was admitted Aug. 3.

She was born Dec. 3, 1876, near Forreston, daughter of John and Fannie Buss. She married John Buntjer Jan. 10, 1901, in Forreston Grove Church. They farmed in the Forreston area until about 15 years ago when they moved to town.

Survivors include her husband; five sons, John of Lanark, Arthur of Milledgeville, Walter of Polo, Benjamin of Rock Falls, and Marvyn of Forreston; three daughters, Mrs. George Coupoulas, Mrs. Tony Agiou, and Mrs. John Siemens, all of Freeport; a sister, Mrs. None DeWall of Forreston; 25 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Dougherty-DeGraff Funeral Home.

FORRESTON -- Elizabeth C. DeWall, 93, passed away Monday, May 17, 2004,

at her home.

She was born Nov. 2, 1910, in Ogle County, a daughter of Ben Buntjer and Minnie Monk Buntjer. On Feb. 22, 1933, Elizabeth and Clarence S. DeWall were wed in Forreston. Mr. DeWall preceded her on Nov. 25, 1989.

Mr. and Mrs. DeWall farmed in the Shannon area for 40 years, retiring in 1971 and moving to Forreston.

She was a member of Prairie Dell Presbyterian Church and Ogle County Farm Bureau.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, flowers and participating in United Presbyterian Women.

Surviving are one daughter, Ruth Ann (Lorence) Ludwig of Forreston; one brother, Willard (Joan) Buntjer; one sister-in-law, Elma Buntjer; two grandchildren, Steven (Lisa) and Randall (Laura) Ludwig of Baileyville; and eight great-grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Andrew, Aaron, Nathaniel, Marissa, Sara and Daniel Ludwig.

Preceding her in death were her husband; two sisters, Sylvia Buss and Minnie Borgmann; and three brothers, Arthur Buntjer and two in infancy.

Services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday at Prairie Dell Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Janice Diefenthaler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at White Oak Cemetery

in Forreston.

Visitation hours are from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. today at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

     FORRESTON - Clarence S. Dewall, 80, of Forreston, died Saturday morning,

Nov. 25, 1989, at his home after an extended illness.

   He and his wife had been lifelong farmers in the Shannon area, until retiring in 1971.

   A member of Prairie Dell Presbyterian Church, rural Forreston, he also belonged to the Ogle County Farm Bureau.

  Born on Sept. 22, 1909 in Ogle County, he was the son of Nonne and Maggie (Buss) DeWall. He married Elizabeth Buntjer on Feb. 22, 1933 in Forreston.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Mrs. Fannie (Chris)

JOHN BUNTJER, JR. of Lanark, who farmed in this area, died Saturday evening (19 October 1974) in University Hospital Iowa City, Iowa, where he had been a patient for six weeks.

He was born June 24, 1901, in Forreston, son of John and Reina (Buss) Buntjer. He married Lillian Martz Aug. 23, 1921, in Freeport.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, Lyndon and Leland of Sterling; two daughters, Mrs. Wilbur (Betty) Reinders of Rock Falls and Mrs. Earl (Margie) Shafer of Lanark; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Also, three brothers, Arthur of Milledgeville, Benny of Rock Falls and Marvin of Forreston; and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Agiou, Mrs. Faye Copoulos and Mrs. Reina Siemens, all of Freeport. He was preceded by his parents and a brother. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Frank Funeral Home at Lanark. Mr. Anton Wolken of the Savanna Jehovah's Witnesses will be in charge of the service. Burial will be in Lanark Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.
