Chuck's Champaign Cocktail Party ~ 01.08.2012
Lorna, the Yoga instructor suggested I meet her at the Asian Art Museum on Sunday at two p.m. as she was giving a class. She said she was bringing a bottle of champagne for us to treat ourselves so of course, I said yes! I met her and around 2:15 no one had shown up for the yoga. As we talked, Ruth, a story teller at the museum and also at the YMCA, saw us and came in to talk. We suggested she come over to my apartment to have some champagne and talk. She said she would get there later on. Lorna and I got to my place and half an hour later the phone rang. It was my neighbor Trish with some goodies for me from the inauguration of our new Mayor Lee, the first Chinese American to be mayor! I told her to come on over and have a drink and talk! Then Ruth knocked on the door and we all had a great time sipping champagne, snacking and talking the afternoon away. So a nice unexpected cocktail party in the afternoon in the City!
