This plane was the bomber that dropped the Atomic Bomb on Japan, ending World War 11.  By dropping the bomb, the US did not have to invade Japan and cause hundreds of thousands of more deaths.  The Emperor had detailed plans for the military to fight to the end, regardless of how many people died for the glory of the Rising Sun!
